Ashiru joined the board of O’dua Group in May 2020 following his appointment as a director during the Southwest Governors Forum.

While congratulating Ashiru, President Muhammadu Buhari described the appointment as a vote of confidence in his track record as a banker of repute, and a Marketing and Strategic Management Expert. Ashiru is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, among others

The President charged the new Chairman, who was Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ogun state from July 2011 to September 2018, to deploy his wealth of experience garnered over decades to take Odua Group to higher heights, and justify the confidence reposed in him by the O’dua Board of Directors.

On his part, Senator Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress inn the 2023 general elections, congratulated Otunba Bimbo Ashiru on his new appointment.

In a congratulatory statement by his media spokesperson, Mr. Tunde Rahman, in Abuja on Saturday, Tinubu described Ashiru’s appointment as an excellent one.

He said: “I congratulate prominent management expert, Otunba Ashiru, over his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Odua Group. His appointment is another testament to the confidence of many, including the Board of Directors of the group, in his competence and capacity. He is an excellent pick for this important job.

“As Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ogun State, Otunba Ashiru showed his worth. A banker of high standing and fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Ashiru was helpful in raising the revenue profile of the state.

“I urge Otunba Ashiru to put up his best efforts so he can take Odua Group to a higher pedestal. I wish him God’s speed and guidance.”
