FG renews appointment of Prof. Moji Adeyeye as NAFAC boss

The Federal Government has reappointed Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye as Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for the second and final tenure of five years.

The Agency broke the news via its official Twitter handle on Friday, December 30, 2022, noting that Prof Adeyeye stopped by briefly at the corporate headquarters in Abuja to meet with some Directors.

It will be recalled that the Federal Government had approved the replacement of Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye as the NAFDAC DG with Prof. Monica Eimunjeze, in acting capacity, late last month.

Adeyeye’s first tenure had lapsed on November 2, 2022.

The replacement was contained in a leaked Internal Memo signed by the agency’s Director of Human Resources Management, A. U. Oboli, dated November, 2022.

The memo notified the Directors of various Units and Departments of the appointment of Prof. Eimunjeze as the acting DG.

It read in part: “The management is in receipt of a letter appointing Dr Monica Eimunjeze as the Acting Director General NAFDAC with effect from 12th November, 2022.

“I am therefore directed to bring this development to you for information and guidance.”
