This is the concept that has attracted many Nigerian celebrities. He noted that the Richmond Gate Estate had gained immense popularity in Nigeria and was popularly referred to as “ Beverly Hills of Africa ” just because of the number of celebrities who found the estate comfortable and safe to live with their families.

He said: “Likewise, VIPS, expatriates, multinational executives and other influential members of society are now living in peace with their neighbors in the serene atmosphere of the Richmond Gate Estate where the electricity supply is available 24/7, and with the completion of Richmond Gate Estate Phase 2, this peaceful lifestyle has been extended to many other celebrities. The head-turning home designs and eye-catching designs of Haven Homes are some of the strengths of my business. With stunning and beautifully designed homes, Haven Homes is the ready developer for creative designs, quality and durable homes that stand the test of time.

“We grasped the absence of modern, contemporary homes in the developer market before we came into the picture, but it’s now a regular feature with all of the other developers. What attracted me to the real estate business in Nigeria was some time ago when I came for my brother’s wedding and saw shoddy construction work in a hotel in renowned, especially the tiling. Back in the UK, I joined forces with a friend who was an architect who at the time had also built a house for his uncle in Magodo. The house became an inspiration for me to return to Nigeria and start building contemporary star-worthy luxury homes and making them affordable. ”

Believing that homes play a crucial role in building a quality lifestyle, Haven Homes prioritizes every step of the development process with a personalized approach from concept to final details. “Before Haven Homes came to Nigeria, there were only traditional buildings, and we led the way in a different direction by introducing contemporary and modern home designs. Because we know that our responsibility to our guests is a long-lasting commitment, our bespoke residences are an ideal solution for a refined lifestyle – designed to inspire in all shapes and sizes”, says Ms. Ufuoma Ilesanmi, Managing Director /COO, Haven Homes.

Sonuga adds, “For our esteemed customers, we have always delivered to agreed specifications and on time. So we have created a reputation of enormous trust and many of our customers over the years have rested their trust in our brand and our ability to deliver as promised.

“Even before I move to a new location to start a new project, potential customers are buying the units off-plan with moderate deposits. While the value of projects and houses still under construction appreciates, their stakes in the project also take enormous value. For example, investors who subscribed to our 2 bedrooms at the original price of 30 million naira ($ 78,000) were able to sell each unit at 45 million naira ($ 117,000), even without paying the full price.”

“It’s the creation of wealth through prudent investments. Some buyers are even able to double their earnings after making an initial deposit. This says a lot about the immense appeal of our brand, made possible by the reputation Haven Homes has built over the years. Our customers have come to place immense trust and confidence in us, and they could now agree to stand in line for their home delivery after paying most of the price in advance. ”

Sonuga adds, “Haven Homes and celebrities have a lot in common because we are both passionate about what we do. For starters, we’re both in the creative industry! Our houses are craftsmanship or art in a unique way, which also marries their creative ingenuity.

“In order for a celebrity to become famous at what they do, there has to be a lot of passion involved and that is what we do in our profession as well. When we build these homes, we make them attractive, not only to celebrities, but to others who cherish the great vibe, the beauty of the estates, and the serenity they provide. We have been successful in maintaining it as a valuable niche market, our association with the biggest celebrities over the years since 2012 has been of huge mutual benefit. ”

Regarding the efforts to make the field ecological, he declares: “The protection of the environment is important to us; we create green areas in our estates, even in the middle of space limits. We also make sure that they are surrounded by highly visible greens, that the energy load is low, and we use energy saving lighting systems thus using low wattage bulbs instead of the popular halogen. At the moment we are trying to see if we can have an air conditioner that can work with an inverter to reduce the energy load and we are creating space for solar panels in our roof designs. In addition, our new estate, Richmond Pearl Estate, will have waste sorting and recycling areas. ”

Mr. Sonuga adds, “We are still facing challenges and the main one is the price instability in the building materials market. Most building material prices continue to rise due to lack of government regulations and restrictions on price increases. Over the past four months, there has been an average increase of about 30 percent on all building materials. This has been a major challenge for us and for the housing industry in general. Another challenge has been the decline in the value of the Nigerian currency, the naira. Needless to include the effects of the global pandemic of the COVID-19 crisis which has driven up the shipping and freight prices of all imported materials.

“However, so far my biggest challenge has been finding the right skilled workers to build our projects with the good quality results we want, but despite these challenges we have remained focused. We had to create multiple layers of supervision, with each layer verifying the previous layer. We have supervisors checking the subcontractors, quality assurance managers checking the supervisors, and then consultants checking the end results. After delivery to our clients, we are still tracking projects for the next six months to make sure our clients move seamlessly into their new homes. All of this comes at a cost to us as a business, but it is the price we have to pay to meet our commitment to providing quality service.”
