Photo-News: Minister Henry Ikoh represents Nigeria at Global Clean Energy Action Forum

Nigeria was ably represented at the first-ever Global Clean Energy Action Forum (GCEAF) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, which held from 21-23 September where the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, stood in for the country at the global outing.

Through GCEAF, governments, international organizations, the private sector, academia, innovators, civil society, and early career researchers and policymakers joined together in a three-day event that featured a high-level plenary, topical roundtables with energy and science ministers from 31 countries, CEOs and experts, side events, technology demonstrations, and other activities.

According to the organizers, GCEAF comes at a pivotal time.  “We are on the cusp of the most important transition human society has ever seen, and we need to look back at 2022 as the year the world took giant steps to build a new energy economy that benefits all, improves energy security, tackles climate change, and reaps the rewards of a clean energy market that will exceed $23 trillion by the end of this decade,” their dispatch read.

With the theme, Rapid Innovation and Deployment, the forum fits into the Federal Government’s goal of adopting robust technology and innovation to drive economic development, including the area of energy transition and climate change.
