Stanbic IBTC CFO joins Board of Directors

Chief Financial Officer, Stanbic IBTC Group, Mr. Adekunle Adedeji,  has been appointed a new executive director on its Board of Directors. The appointment took effect from Friday, February 22, 2019.

The management and board of Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc confirmed the appointment in a notification to stakeholders.

Adedeji, with more than 23 years post-graduation experience, has spent over 20 years in the banking industry. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, an MBA in Finance and has attended several executive development programmes, both in Nigeria and overseas.

Prior to his appointment in Stanbic Ghana in May 2013, where he served as Chief Financial Officer, Adedeji had previously served as Financial Controller for Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc, the group’s largest subsidiary.

Before joining Stanbic IBTC, he had also previously served as Financial Controller and Regional Financial Controller for Ecobank Liberia and Nigeria respectively. Prior to entering the banking industry, Adedeji worked with Ernst & Young for three years with his experience covering audit, taxation and other consultancy services.

Adedeji is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria, a Charter holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute; an Associate of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) as well as the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
